We are glad to launch a new peer reviewed international journal on materials science and broad spectrum of relevant disciplines – Materials Innovations. This Journal will be published online only by Hexa Publishers in collaboration with Materials Science Society of Pakistan (MSSP) which is an academic organization formed by Pakistani materials scientists of their own accord with the purpose of serving Pakistani materials scientists at home and abroad to promote the development of materials science in Pakistan and globally.

Materials Innovations will be an interdisciplinary journal devoted to significant experimental and theoretical findings on the synthesis, structure, characterization, processing and applications of materials. The journal will provide a platform for materials scientists and engineers, physicists, and chemists to communicate on the most important topics in the field of materials. Materials Innovations is dedicated to publishing peer reviewed novel, cutting edge reports of broad interest to the materials science community. Our journal will be published in English language. We apply transparent unbiased peer-review, including internal review by associate editors and external reviewers by topic experts.

Formatting your manuscript to a particular template can be time-consuming and often frustrating. In this regard, Materials Innovations has taken a great initiative by seeking to simplify the submission process by allowing the format free submissions to its journals. While submitting to our journals, authors don’t need to worry about any formatting requirements and can submit the article in any format, as long as parts of the manuscript including title, authors and their affiliations, abstract, main text and references are clearly distinguishable and readable. Once the editor finally accepts the article after the reviewer’s reports, at that stage we will ask you to format the article according to the journal template. To further encourage the quality submissions to the journal and to promote materials science in Pakistan, we have also introduced a reward of 100 US dollars for all the articles published during 2021-2022.

I sincerely hope that material experts at home and abroad will give their full support to the journal and strive to make it a world-class platform for the academic exchange. Finally, I would like to thank all of our editorial board members, editors and future authors/reviewers who will make best of their efforts for the successful publication of the journal.
